Sight impaired Lions throughout Oregon have the opportunity to HEAR the Oregon Lion. But they must first know that this service is available. Talking Books and Braille Services (TBABS) and the Lions are cooperating to produce and distribute the Oregon Lion on audiocassette tape to any TBABS customers who would like to have it.
Any resident of the United States who is unable to read or use standard print materials as a result of a temporary or permanent visual or physical limitation may receive service. There is no cost for this service. This service is supported by federal and state taxes. TBABS supplies machines and tapes to play on them. They are delivered via the United States Post Office at no charge to the customer.
If you would like to enroll to receive the Oregon Lion and any other materials TBABS has to offer. Please call 1-800-452-0292 and ask for an application to be sent to you. Be sure to request the Oregon Lion as part of your service.
A special thanks goes to Lion, Past Council Chairman, Dick Larsen for being the "reader" each month to provide this service.
